Latest generation Ferrolinera, electric vehicle recharging in Malaga

Spanish Railway Infrastructure Administrator (Adif), is going to open several electric recharging points, which will be fed by the energy recovered from train braking. These systems will be installed on the basis of different R&D&I projects.

In line with its objectives, Adif wants to, not only strengthen the railway system in Spain, but also create sustainable and quality alternatives that are environment-friendly. One of those alternatives is a Ferrolinera, an advanced system of electric vehicle recharging which has been installed in the María Zambrano station in Málaga. Its aim is to promote the use of electric vehicles.

This initiative, called Area CERO2, uses the latest technologies in electromobility. The City of Malaga has supported the initiative by contributing a fast charger that makes the use of the recharging points more efficient. Also, the Electromaps App gives users information about the availability of the recharge points and payment rates.
